The question I get asked the most is “Why don’t you paint faces?”
Well, I never knew my paintings would be faceless. But as I painted my self portrait, it became an abstract representation of my face and a realistic representation of my heart. The body language was so vivid. Without facial features the emotion was evident.
I found my creative voice the night I painted my self portrait. It forced me to look within and paint feelings instead of expressions. At that moment, I knew I would communicate through body language. This is why I don’t paint faces.
