What does my art sound like? When you look at it, what music do you hear?
Modest Mussorgsky composed a piece of music based on an exhibition by artist Viktor Hartmann. Hartmann’s work inspired Mussorgsky to create Pictures at an Exhibition.
I would love for a composer to see my work and be inspired to set it to music. But what would my art sound like? Would it have the sensual smooth tones of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata? Or the melancholy softness of Chopin’s Tristesse?
I always felt my art would sound like jazz. Original, emotional and spontaneous like the improvisations of a jazz riff.
Whether classical or jazz, I would love to hear the sound of my art. An original artistic symphony for the eyes and ears.
