“As far as art is concerned, you are man enough.”
- Violinist Joseph Joachim to pianist Clara Schumann, 1870
I love being a woman. It makes success so much sweeter! My dad taught me to act like a lady but to think like a man. So, when I pursued my dream of being an artist, I was mentally prepared for the challenge. Working in advertising for sixteen years was also a great education. I am accustomed to my work being criticized, non-existent deadlines and solving problems quickly. Like Mrs. Schumann, I am not intimidated working in a male dominated industry.
My goals are simple: To inspire others with my art and to make it available to those who want it. If galleries won’t exhibit my work, I will exhibit on my own. I am no stranger to adversity and I have a thick skin. So as I build my art career, I will take my dad’s advice. And as far as art is concerned, I know I am WOMAN enough. : )
